Water pushes on land creating oceanscapes that are in a constant state of flux as weather and tide command. Light and shadow shift playfully as the sun moves across the sky while elegant sand patterns form created by wind and crashing water. Like human emotions, the ocean landscape is never the same from day to day or even moment to moment. Big waves or little waves, the surface is never still. Yet much like our own subconscious thoughts, the deep waters are unseen hinting at mysteries dark and vast. Ancient and primal, the ocean is a place where I seek refuge that feels both familiar and divine. (2015 – 2019)
